Should you go by BMI (Body Mass Index) or %Body Fat. BMI was developed by an insurance company decades ago and it is flawed. Doctors know its flawed because it does not factor in bone size or muscularity. In fact, the BMI system would probably say that every NFL linebacker needs to lose weight It only factors for your height, you should be X pounds. At our office, for our Alpha Weight Loss clients/patients, we use a special formula involving % body fat to determine what you should weigh. It is based off NIH/WHO charts.
